Kevin Durant Reacts to Shohei Ohtani’s Move to Dodgers

Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant has made a lot of money in his career – but nothing like Showtime.

PHOENIX — Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant has made money in his career.

According to Spotrac, he’s made just under $500 million in salary from playing in the NBA. That doesn’t factor in other avenues such as investments, sponsorships, endorsements, etc.

Case in point: There’s very people who will ever touch the amount of dough Durant has seen.

Shohei Ohtani would like a word.

After great anticipation through not only the baseball world but essentially the entire landscape of sports to see where Ohtani would next play, he announced on Instagram he would join the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Durant seemed to like the decision, dropping some fire emojis under the post.

Later details revealed Ohtani’s deal would be to the tune of 10 yr/$700 million, the largest contract awarded in North American sports history.

Ohtani will reportedly be deferring a lot of the salary, which also helps the Dodgers to financially add more pieces in order to piece together a World Series run.

His deal is the largest in MLB history by quite a large margin, edging former teammate Mike Trout’s 12 yr, $426.5 million contract.

As for Durant, his current 4 yr, $194.2 million deal ranks 20th in total value.
